Climate
Most of the plains in the mainland of France have a maritime climate, with warm winters and cool summers, with rain all year round. The southern plains or hilly areas have a Mediterranean climate with dry summers and rains in winter. The Alps, Pyrenees, Vosges, Jura and Central Highlands have an alpine climate.
